To all the reporters who woke up this morning with a renewed interest in the standoff between Native protesters and police near Hamilton, I’ve got a hot tip for you.
First, here’s what Harper had to say about the matter:
“This is a matter before the courts and the removal today was an action of the provincial authorities in Ontario”
If that abdication of responsibility was too vague, the Globe quotes Indian Affairs Minister Jim Prentice calling the matter a provincial responsibility.
Funny, I seem to remember that explanation didn’t wash for Harper or Prentice when they sat to the left of the Speaker during the Kashechewan crisis.
I wonder if these guys know they’re intruding on provincial jurisdiction.
91.24, it’s what’s for dinner.
